Education is the basis for a self-determined life – and the foundation for a world in which people can live in dignity, peace, security and in harmony with nature. We improve learning conditions and provide access to education for children in five developing countries in Africa and Asia. We select our schools and education projects with the utmost care, and our experienced and reliable local partners take care of them on site. We directly support selected schools or establish educational projects where there is a great need for action.
Primary School in Madagaskar
In the African island nation, we support an elementary school with more than 230 schoolchildren. Before our support, just half of the children showed up for class.
Schools in Simthali, Nepal
In Nepal, we support two schools in the mountains, which enable the children there to attend school in a family environment. Without a local school, many children would not go to school or would have to leave their families to attend school in the distant capital.
Schools in Pakistan
Instead of going to school in the morning, many children in Pakistan support their parents at work. The situation is particularly difficult in the brickyard (brick-kiln) villages.
Here, children help their parents in the brickyard or look after their younger siblings.
In order to establish school attendance in the mostly illiterate families and to teach the children the basics they need to attend a state school, we have founded two schools with our local partner.
Education Project in Cebu City, Philippines
In the slums at Pier 3, a jetty in the port of Cebu City, access to education is out of reach for most children – only those with a school uniform are allowed to go to school. Their lives are affected by their parents’ existential worries, crime and gang dynamics.
Primary School in Tansania
Igoma C Primary School is located in Mwanza City on Lake Victoria. The large city has universities and offers a wide variety of jobs to qualified people. However, for many, the local conditions are not as good as they seem. Many schools are in a desolate condition, lacking teachers, school materials and classrooms.
